"Banking on Toys" for Hundreds of Youth from Santa Barbara & Goleta
Peoples' Self-Help Housing partners with Community West Bank to collect toys for the holidays
Santa Barbara & Goleta, CA—December 12, 2005: Now through Tuesday, December 20th, Individuals are invited to donate unwrapped, new toys to benefit over 300 children living in Peoples' Self-Help Housing residences in Goleta, Isla Vista, Storke Ranch, and Santa Barbara. Officer Rick Alvarado from the Santa Barbara Police Department, a community partner of Peoples' Self-Help Housing, recognized a need, and was the one to initiate coordination of this toy drive with Community West Bank. Donations may be dropped off at the following Community West Bank locations:
Goleta Branch: 5827 Hollister Avenue, Goleta
NEW Santa Barbara Branch: 1600 State Street, Santa Barbara
Community West Bank Corporate Offices: 445 Pine Avenue, Goleta
In addition to toys for small children, ages infant to 11 years old, individuals are encouraged to donate items appropriate for older chidren, ages 12-17 years old. Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) will provide a bus and a driver to transport the toys from the collection locations to the Peoples' Self-Help Housing property for distribution to the children.
