Homebuyer Education

If you are considering homeownership we highly recommend taking a homebuyer education class. Courses typically cover shopping for a home, securing a mortgage loan, how credit works, and locating a realtor and lender. They will prepare you for the responsibility of homeownership and are often a prerequisite for many down payment assistance loans. Taking the course may allow you to obtain more favorable loan terms, so please check with your lender.

We recommend eHome America an online homebuyer education website, with classes available in English and Spanish, and offering self paced learning. The course fee is $99.00 and a certificate is awarded upon completion. Our eHome America portal also includes a Money Management course and a Post-Purchase Homeowner Education course.
